TROUBLE OVER MONEY.
OMITTED TO ACCOUNT.
TWO MEN IN COURT.
Charged with fraudulently, omitting to Recount for various sums of money belonging to Electrical Imports, Limited, two young men appeared before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday.
Sidney Edward Taylor, a salesman, aged 26, who appeared for sentence after a week's remand on four charges of failing to account for sums totalling £33 2s 6d, was placed on probation for two years, and ordered to make full restitution.
Ross de Villiers, aged 23, another employee of the same firm, was charged with failing to account for X 56, and also with the theft of an electric cleaner. 110 pleaded guilty to all the charges. Chief-Detective Hammond said accused had sold electric-cleaners to farmers and had kept the money he received. ITe was ft South African and had been in the country for only two years. The magistrate remanded accused for a week for sentence so that inquiries could Le made regarding him.
