ARAB DEMONSTRATION.
WARRIORS IN ALGERIA. FRENCH PRESIDENT HONOURED. (Received Hay 5, 10.55 p.m.) ALGIERS, May 6. Ten thousand bearded desert warriors, mounted on black and white horses and racing camejs, paid tribute to the President of France, M. Doumergue, who visited Algeria on the occasion of the 100 th anniversary of the French conquest. The warriors assembled on the Hussein Bey Plains, above Algiers, and demonstrated their amazing horsemanship. They were clad in flowing robes, and were using saddles which were mostly studded with gold. They galloped and charged on the plains in mass formation, firing rifles from their hips The tribes had travelled upwards of 2000 miles over the desert, and had spent two months in tho great trek. The oldest sheik in Algeria presented M. Doumergue with an Arab charger, which is the> noblest possible gift from a tribe.
