PEA-RIFLE ACCIDENT.

boy shoots his brother, WEAPON THOUGHT UNLOADED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OTVN CORRESPONDENT.] OPOTIKI, Monday. A serious shooting accident yesterday resulted in Gordon Forbe.s, aged 16,. a postal employee, being admitted to the Opotiki Hospital suffering from a bullet wound in the head. It appears that Gordon, with a younger brother, Reese, had been handling a pea rifle, the younger boy not knowing that Gordon had loaded it. Reese pulled the trigger, although he was not aware that the gun was pointing toward his brother. The bullet entered the nose, lodging in the lower jaw.

Hie injured boy was quickly taken to the hospital. He passed a good night. Tho bullet has not yet been extracted.
