DAMAGE TO FACTORY.

SUPERINTENDENT INJURED. FALL ON TO CONCRETE FLOOR. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NAPIER, Monday. A fire this morning partially destroyed the old fire station, the property of tho City Council. The building was occupied as a shirt factory by Mr. W. Arnold, and by two families as a residence. The building was insured for £BOO in tho Alliance Office. The superintendent of the brigade, Mr. J. H. Riddell, met with an accident when inspecting the building. He was on the damaged first floor, when he fell through to tho concrete floor below. He was taken to the hospital suffering from a severo scalp wound and bruises. He did not lose consciousness, however, and his condition this evening is reported to be satisfactory. His skull is not thought to bo fractured, but this is not certain until after an X-ray examination to-mor-row.
