SWIMMING.
FORTHCOMING CARNIVAL. ARRANGEMENT OF PROGRAMME. Arrangements in connection with tho benefit carnival to be held on May 20 in aid of tho fund to send G. Bridson and possibly Miss Gladys Pidgeon, to tho Empire Games, were finalised at a meeting of the executive of the Auckland Swimmng Contro last evening. A recommendation by Mr. P. Stewart that any money received should bo devoted in the first place toward the full payment of Bridson's expenses and that any surplus should go to Miss Pidgeon was carried. An offer for the printing of 1500 tickets free of chargo wa3 accepted. It was decided that they be divided among club secretaries for distribution. Tho following programme was drawn up for tho benefit c;\rnival: —Attempt by BridEon on either tho 100 metres or 500 metres New Zealand records: attempt by R. Thomas on the 100 yards Auckland intermediate boys' record; 100 yards ladies' Auckland backstroke championship, 50yds open handicap, 50yds ladies' handicap. 100 yds breaststroke handicap, 50yds junior boys' and girls' handicaps, 200 yds inter-club dual relay championship for tho Batty Cup, _ 200 yds inter-Grammar Schools' relay championship, 50yds Mount Eden district schools' championship for the lVatt Cup, 233 l-3yds interclub relay championship, 200 yds inter-house girls' relay championship.
