THAMES, Monday. The following threo players have been chosen to bo nominated by tho Thames itugby Union as candidates for the AIJ Black Trials:—A. E. Lomas (City). J. Strango (Physical Training),, and P. Clark (C.0.8.).

The annual meeting of the South Auckland Rugby Union wan hold at Pukekohe to-day, (lie president, Mr. J. Dean, being in I lie cluiir. The balance-sheet showed n credit balance of tlls. _ - Officers elected were:—Patron, Mr. <T. N. Massey, M.J'.; president, Mr. J. Dean; secretary, Mr. W. J. Short; delegate to Auckland Itugby Union, Mr. Dean; senior selectors. Messrs. W. R. Bilkey and Short; junior selector, Mr. Or. E. Revell; selector for third prade, Mr. J. P. Rae; reproßentative on South Auckland Referees' Association, Mr. Short; auditor, Mr. M. S, Cunipbell. It was decided that all games in the union's territory, which extends from Manurcwn to Rangiriri, should bo played in accordance with tho New Zealand rules. The Manurewa Club's attitude to the union's decision that this season the club should play in tho Manukau Union's competitions was discussed, it being stated that, although the club had agreed to abide by the decision, the Manukau Union was yet awaiting its entries. Messrs. Dean. P. A. Hillary and A. Flanagan were authorised to explain the reasons for the South Auckland Union's decision to the Auckland Union. They were also requested to ask tho Auckland Union to agree to the Manukau Union's boundaries being extended lo includo Whitford district. If, was decided that tho South Auckland senior competition Ehould start on July 5. draw for this dato was as follows: Manukau v. Pukekohe, atPapakura; Franklin v Waikare, atTuakau; Waiuku, a bye. Tho president, tho secretary and Mr. 11. Curd were asked to organise a South Auckland Primary Schools' Rugby Union. A donation of £5 was voted to tho funds of the proposed schools' union.
