EXTRAORDINARY CRIME
GIRL FATALLY STABBED. STATEMENT BY ACCUSED. (Received April 13, 6.35 p.m.) LONDON, April 12. An extraordinary murder was committed at Dartford Hcatli near London. Evelyn Parker, aged 23, was walking with her younger sister Joan across the heath when a man sprang out from some bushes. Ho pushed Joan aside and slabbed the elder girl in the back. Tho knife ' penetrated the victim's heart. The man instantly disappeared. A search by a large force of policemen, detectives and civilians resulted in tho discovery of the knife in tho bushes. Subsequently Albert Edvard Margeram, of Belvedere, was detained at Erith. Ho was charged with the murder at the Dartford Police Court and was remanded until April 17. When asked 1o plead accused said : " I am very sorry it occurred. I never intended to commit murder."
