OBSTETRICAL APPEAL.
A meeting of ladies interested in the Obstetrical Appeal was held in the Kumeu Hall iast week to hear the result of tho effort made in the district. Mrs. M. S. Harris, president of the committee, was in the chair, and congratulated tho collectors on the total. Kumeu and the surrounding districts had more than raised their quota, £SO, and it was most gratifying to bo able to forward to the general fund nearly £7O. The president made special mention of the willing and generous responso from the Maori girls' hostel at tho New Zealand tobacco farm.
