Don Ouixolo and Cylinder raced here today. Cylinder will strip a fitter horse for 1 'no Auckland Champagne Slakes, in which ho will be ridden by 11. Gray. Don Quixote did not show up as a St. Leger horse to-da.v, but with Gray 011 him in tho Eden Handicap at. Ellerslie next Saturday, he will bo meeting his class and should not he disgraced.

Star Stranger and Hunting Day have been working along well. Lovo Hong is a Hunting Song two-year-el'l with some pace, but no performance outside a third at Napier to bis credit as let.

Sha scored easily and cavo the apprentice K. Voitre his first rido and a winner since his accident at New Plymouth in February, when ho had both arms fractured. Only Pakitere, Fitis Quex and Courtesy were backed. War Worn began very smartly, but Courtesy ran into second placo beforo the halfmile, and Fitz Quex and Pakitore moved up. War Worn led into tho straight from Courtesy, Fitz Quex, Pukitcro and Ruby's Stop. Courtesy strode to tho front 111 the straight 'o win easily by two lengths from Fits Quex, who beat Pnkitere by ft length. War Worn was fourth ond Gasconade and Futurist followed ill that order.
