EDENDALE SCHOOL.
TWENTY-FIRST ANNIVERSARY,
HEADMASTER TO RETIRE.
The 21st anniversary of the Edendale District School will be celebrated next month. Tho occasion will also mark the retirement of the headmaster, Mr. C. A. Semadeni, who has occupied the position since the foundation, of the school in J909. Over 7000 pupilsi have passed through the school.
A well-attended meeting of parents, householders and former pupils of the .. school was held on Tuesday evening. Mr. J. Carrie, chairman of the school committee, said the object oli the meeting was to consider what st<ips should be taken to recognise the retirement of the headmaster. Mr. Carrie referred to tfos love and respect which all past and present, have for Mr. Semeideni and the splendid work he has 1 accomplished. A committee of parents a|nd old pupil# was formed to combine with the school committee in arranging a presentation to be made at a function to be held' in th» school grounds ou May 31.
