WHAKATANE ACTIVITIES. [BY TELEGRAPH,—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WHAKATANE, Saturday. The annual meeting of tho Whakatane District Sheep-dog Trial Club was held at Taneatua last evening. Mr. T. Mitchell presided. Tho balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £62. The election of officorß resulted as follows; Patron, Mr. R. Mitchell; president, Mr. B. Mitchell; secretary and treasurer, Mr. G. R. Kent. EVENTS AT MOAWHANGO. RESULTS OF COMPETITIONS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAIHAPE, Saturday. The annual dog trials of tho Moawhango Collio Club were brought to a successful conelusion yesterday afternoon. Competitors wero present from all parts of the North Island, and each event was keenly contested. Results are as follows: Class 1 (head, pull, drive round ring and back). — F. England's Toss, 44} points, 1;' E. Siddlo's Boy, 44, 2; H. Harris' Haig. 43£, 3; F. England's Bid, 43, 4. The ladies' bracelot for best maiden dog in class, 1, open to competitors domioiled within a radius of 20 miles of Moawhango, was won by 11. H. Lowry'p Sweep, with 42 points. The silver cup donated by Messrs t T. C. Lowry and R. H. Lowry for the leading local dog in class 1, was won by E. Siddle's Boy, with 44 points. Class 2 (heading, bringing back and yarding).—J. Goodwin's Nell, 531, 1; J. Goodwin's Peel, 5.3, 2; E. Siddle's Boy, 52J, 3; 11. Harris' Haig .and Brigadier Bill, 48! (equal), 4. Class 3 (huntaway).—R. Staple's entry, 40, 1; H. Harris' entry, 39, 2; W. Brewer's entry, 35, 3; Miss N. Cottrell's entry, 30, 4.
