PIGEON FLYING.
JHE WAITEMATA CLUB. The Waitemata Flying Club contested its second young bird race from Te Awamutu, an airline distance of 86 miles, for a special prize donated by Mr. F. C. Olliver, sen. Forty-three birds competed:—Results:—Mr. C. Olliver's dp c Sky Hawk, 1185 yds per min, 1; Mr. H. F. Crowhurst's y h Yellow Princess, 1178 yds, 2; Mr. S. Gorman's r c c Lord Pencarrow, 1173 yds, 3. The club.will contest a race next week from Te Kuiti for a trophy presented by Mr. C. Olliver, jun. POINT CHEVALIER CLUB. The Point Chevalier Pigeon Club flew its second race of the second series on Saturday from Te Awamutu in ideal flying weather. Eight lofts competed. Mr. L. Cantell's entry has won the last three races on end. Results:—Mr. L. Cantell's r p c Ace High, 1284 yds per min, 1; Mr. A. Harris' b c h Star Dust. 1267 yds, 2; Mr. A. Simmond's b b h Blue Lupin, 1260 yds, 3. AUCKLAND CLUB. The Auckland Racing Pigeon Club flew its second race of the second series from To Awamutu in fine weather. Ten lofts competed. Results:—Wright Bros.' boh Gipsy Maid. 1132 yds per min, 1; Mr. Monk's b c h Challenger, • 1129 yds, 2; Mrs. Reed's r c c Rose Boy, 1123 yds, 3. AVALON CLUB. The Avalon Pigeon Club held a race from Tauimirunui in fine weather. • Six lofts competed. Results Mr. D. Herring's rc li Delusion, 1099 yds per min, 1; Mr. Wilson's t> b h All Blue. 1097.2yd5. 2: Messrs. McGregor Bros.' r p c Lord Star, 1096.8yd5, 3. The club will hold a race next week for a trophy presented by Mrs. Scott.
