AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION. three centuries scored. WICKETS FAVOUR BATSMEN. The fourth series of matches in tbi second round of tho Auckland Cricket Association's senior competition was concluded on Saturday, wins being gained in their respective matches by Parnell, Ponsonby, Grafton and University. A. feature of the day's play was that three centuries were scored, the honours going to Snedden (Ponsonby. 167), Vivian (Parnell, 133) and McCoy (Parnell, 128). Parnell, which leads in the championship by sis points, is now certain of the honours for the season. Ideal conditions prevailed, the wickets and outfield being 11 j n favour of the batsmen and the bowlers had an unenviable task. V. PARNELL. Y.M.C.A. declared its innings closed with 225 for eight wickets in its match with Parnell on the No. 1 wicket at Eden Park. Y.M.C.A. had occupied the previous Saturday in making the runs. Taking full advantage of the favourable tcicket Grafton, by solid and at times bright batting, secured a first innings victory over United Suburbs. On the opening day United Suburbs compiled 183 runs end Grafton 'i had made 22 runs for no wickets when stumps were drawn. Gra.fton increased its first day's score to 250, winning on the first innings by 67 runs. Good batting performances were given by Sale (SS), Horspool (38), Allcott (31), Wajters (29) and Rowntree (24). With the idea of securing four points University went for x hit in its second innings, Bush batting well and making 31 out of 113 runs when the innings was declared dosed for the loss of four wickets. At Wesley College, a match between the college first eleven and Pukekohe was commenced. Wesley College batted first and made 110 runs (Walters 39, Kalio 30. Eastwood 12. Shepherd 10). Pukekohe had lost two wickets for 14 runs (Rose 12) when play for the day was discontinued. Bowling for Pukekohe, C. Lawrie took seven wickets for 28 runs. H.
