BYRD EXPEDITION.
DEPARTURE OF FLAGSHIP. LARGE CROWD ON WHARF. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, Sunday. The Byrd expedition ship City of New ifork sailed for New York at 3.10 p.m. to-day, being towed to sea by the tug Dunedin. Her departure was witnessed by a large crowd and she was escorted to the heads by, a fleet of small craft. Rear-Admiral Byrd will leave New Zealand jby mail steamer after the Eleanor Boiling sails.
