GRADER FROM A LORRY.

AN ONEHUNGA EXPERIMENT. SUCCESSFUL TRIAL MADE. » An interesting trial was carried out on Saturday morning by the staff of the Onehunga Borough Council, when a new grader was tested. The machine has been put to its new use hl'ter having previously served as a motor-truck.

As it was no longer required for the council's work and was subject to an annual tax of £35, it was suggested by the Mayor, Mr. E. Morton, that, as the council could not sell it, tliey might be able to convert it into a grader. This was successfully done at a cost of £7O. On Saturday the grader very quickly cleaned up the untidy growth of grass in Arthur Street. It will be used for similar work for a time before being employed in actual grading.
