ONE TREE HILL BOROUGH.
ALTERED SHOPPING HOURS.
SATURDAY HALF-HOLIDAY,
The change of the One Tree Hill road district to the status of a borough affects the weekly half-holiday and the evening closing hours of shops within tho newlyconstituted borough. Hitherto the statutory half-holiday for One Tree Hill has been Wednesday, although many shops have elected to observe Saturday.-.
Now that the district has been constituted a borough, it. automatically comes within the combined district of Auckland so far as the Shops and Offices Act iiconcerned. It will now be compulsory for shopkeepers to observe Saturday as the statutory closing day, as is done . throughout the Auckland combined district. The inclusion of One Tree Hill in ths combined district also brings it under the provisions of the Shops and Offices Act relating to the early closing of shops in the evenings of working* days.
