REQUEST FOR HUSBAND.
PREFERABLY A CLERGYMAN. A woman of North Wales has written to the ex-Mayor of Durham, Mr. W. W. Wilkinson, asking to be introduced to a man, preferably a clergyman, with a view to marriage. Neither the amount of the stipend nor the ago. of the clergyman need bo taken into consideration, she says. Mr. Wilkinson said he was convinced from the tone of tho letter that the woman was serious. " .Anything I can do to help her will be done," he added, " and all the letters received will bo regarded as confidential. If I rgceive a shoal of applications from eligible clergymen 1 shall select the most suitable man and put him in touch with (ho woman, who is evidently well connected."
