ROTORUA NOTES.

BRIDGE EVENING. A most enjoyable bridge evening was given by Mrs. A. Brown to entertain the friends of her daughter,. Miss Jean Pearce, on Thursday evening. The bridge room was decorated with vases of zinnias and asters and bowls of Aaron's Rod. Mrs. Brown received her guests wearing a frock of black georgette. Miss Pearce wore green georgette and spotted, net and a coat of floral ninon. Progressive bridge was played, the winners being Miss Isdale and Miss Steele.

Among those present were: Mrs. C. Grove, Miss Gunn, Miss Macpherson, Miss J. Giesen, Miss K. Hall, Miss M. Cooney, Miss E. Campbell, Miss C. Moore", Miss P. St. C.lair, Miss Isdale, Miss V. Steele, Misses L. and M. Dnnnefaerd, Miss V. Holland, Miss M. Mackenzie, Miss D. Griffiths, Miss Booth, Miss Corlett. ■ Personal.

Mrs. F. Moorehouse, of Rotonia, has left for an extended visit to the South: Miss R. Griffiths and Miss D. Griffiths have returned from a visit to Hawke's Bav.

Mr., Mrs. and Miss Manson, of Melbourne, passed through Rotorua on their way from National Park and Wairakei, and were guests at Hotel Arawa. Dr. and Mrs. MaKnight and Mr. and Mrs. Bavnor, of Auckland, are visitors to Rotoiua.
