HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST.
The following weather forecast for hours irom 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:—Fair to cloudy woather is indicated, hazy and overcast at times, with a scattered rainfall, particularly in west coast districts. Isolated thunderstorms are expected, especially in the high country. Warm temperatures, becoming temporarily cooler. Winds variable, moderate southerlies prevailing for a short while, but giving place to northerly and northeasterlies again, freshening. Local outlook: Fair to cloudy, with warm day temperatures, and cool nights, conditions becoming unsettled, and rain developing. Localised thunder-showers are likely. Barometer, midnight, steady .. 30.001n. Midnight, Thursday . . . . 30.20 in. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: —A rather vigorous depression is crossing tho Dominion, while a moderate anti-cyclone is advancing over the Tasman Sea. Indications are for winds becoming southerly generally and fresh to strong. Seas rather i f ough south of Cape Egmont and Castlepoint; elsowhero moderate. Moderate to fresh southerly winds and moderate to rather rough seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. Weather changeable and rtfther unsettled ; showors probable fairly generally, but more especially over the South Island.
