ENDOWMENT APPEAL.
OBSTETRICAL CAMPAIGN.
In connection with the obstetric appeal, the Heme Bay, Ponsonby, Richmond, West End branch held its second committee meeting in the Leys Institute yesterday afternoon, Mrs. Cooke presiding. Miss Phillips, acting secretary, and sixteen members of the committee were present, and a number of apologies for absence were received. 'lhe reports handed in were most pleasing and to date a sum of £55 is in hand. Arrangements were completed for the bridge drive to bo held on Wednesday, March 26, at 1.45 p.m. in Point Erin Park kiosk. Plans for canvassing the West End area were put in hand, and it was decided to hold another meeting on Thursday, March 27, at 2 p.m.
POINT CHEVALIER. A meeting convened by Mrs. J. S. Fletcher, in the interests of the obstetrical appeal, was held at Point Chevalier, and was addressed by Dr. Buckley Turkington. It was decided to form a committee of which Mrs. J. S. Fletcher was appointed chairwoman and Mrs. W. J. McMillan hon. secretary. The Point Chevalier quota was fixed at £75. Collecting lists were issued to members of the committee, and social gatherings were arranged fcr the purpose of raising funds. A donation of £5 was received from Mr. J. S. Fletcher.
TE AROHA. A successful appeal on behalf of the Obstetrical Chair Endowment Fund was made at Te Aroha on Wednesday evening by Mrs. Gordon, a former member of the Te Aroha Borough Council. After explaining her mTssion, Mrs. Gordon referred to the remarkable effort of the people of To Aroha in raising over £BOO for the West Coast earthquake fund She announced that Te Aroha's quota had been fixed at £IOO. A strong committee with Mesdamcs R. Spraguo and L. 11. Stevenson as secretaries and Mrs. b. McGirr as treasurer was appointed.
