The inaugural meeting of the Auckland branch of the International Accountants' Corporation and Book-keepers' Institute of Australasia was held-this week. There was a representative gathoring of accountants and secretaries, the registrar, Mr. T. Watson Arthur, 'presiding. Tho objccLs of, tho corporation were reviewed by tho registrar, who pointed out the necessity for keeping in touch with commercial life iii foreign countries. Although members- were at present admitted without examination, the credentials of all applicants were closely examined.
