EXPANSION IN BRITAIN.
MOVE TAKEN IN MOSCOW.

The Manchester Guardian's Moscow correspondent reports that the Soviet Chamber of Commerce has decided to open an English section, in an endeavour to promote Soviet trade with Britain.
"It is a good inauguration of the renewal of the diplomatic relations between Britain and the Soviet Union that Soviet purchase* in this country have shown a considerable increaso during I lie first three months of tho financial year 1929-30," recently said the Bank for Russian Trade .Review. " Orders placed by the Soviet trading organisations durinj,' October-December, 1929, amounted to £4,770,228, as compared with £1,693,962 in October-December, 1928. " The following tabic shows t!ie amount of Soviet orders each month in pounds sterling:— 1928. 1929. October . . £657,864 £1,994,022 November . 537,470 1.693.591 December . 498,628 1,082,615 Total . . £1,693,962 £4,770,228 " The orders reached the highest level in October, but declined somewhat during November and December, which was due mainly to seasonal fluctuations."
