CONDITIONS IN SOUTH.
Auckland.—A light east-north-east breeze and fine, clear weather prevailed yesterday. There was a slight fall in the barometer to 30.25 in. in the afternoon, but there was a rise in the evening. Wellington.—The weather in Wellington yesterday was again, overcast and threatening, with a northerly breeze. Misty rain, the first for a. number of weeks, fell for a short time early in the evening. Christchurck—Yesterday was dulL*'itb a fresh breeze from the The maximum temperature was 69 degrees. The barometer rose steadily all day and stood at 30.25 at 5 p.m. Dunedin. —Rain fell early yesterday morning, but fine clear weather, with a 'light south-west wind, prevailed afterwards. The barometer was high and fairly steady.
