[BY COERKSPOXDENT. ] •WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Under his will the late Mr. Jama Trewin, who died recently at Foilding, appointed the Public Trustee as executor, and directed that the residue ef hi« estate, after providing for sundry bequests, should be held for a period, and then, with the accumulations of income,

the board of governors of the McCarthy Trust, for the relief of the indigent poor of the parish of St. Stithins and of the City of Truro, both in Cornwall. ;

In the exercise of its duties the board is empowered to communicate with the vicar for the time being of the Anglican Church at St. Stithins,.and the Mayor of the city of Truro, for advice and suggestions. It is estimated that the .sum which will eventually be administered by the board under the trust created by Mr. Trewin will probably exceed £13,000. In addition to the foregoing trust Sir. Trewin, who was a Cornishman, provided for the following bequests, to be paid after the death of his widow:—£so to the Anglican Church of St. Stithins;.£looo to the Church of St. Stithins, for the erection of a striking clock of four faces and for a set of pealing bells, and also the income of a sum of £SOO. to be applied for the upkeep of the church and the clock and bells.; £SO to the United Methodist Free Church of St. Stithins; £SO to the Wesleyan Chapel of St. Stithins; .£SO to the Wesleyan Church at Edgcumbe, Cornwall; £SOO to Truro Cathedral; £IOO to the Miners' Hospital, Redruth, Cornwall; £IOO to the Women's Public Hospital, Redruth j £IOO to the Infirmary, Truro. If the rebuilding of the Feilding Church is commenced within a certain time, the rebuilding fund will 'benefit under Mr. Trewin's will to the extent of £525, in addition to a sum of £lO5 to be utilised in providing a stained glass window. Mr. Trewin is the second person to avail himself of the provisions of the Thomas George McCarthy Trust Act, the first being the late Mr. Henry Wilshaw, of Wellington, who died recently. There is a parish of St. Stythians in the diocese of Truro.
