SOMERSAULT OVER BANK.
MOTOR-CAR WRECKED.
DRIVER AND WIFE INJURED-

A motor accident occurred yesterday afternoon, when Mr. C. Heena, of Pae whenua, Otorohanga, with his wife and two children, was motoring home from a visit to Auckland and Hamilton. When descending a slope on the Ngahiape Road, near Te Kawa, a tyre blew out and the car left the road. It turned over three or four times in descending the bank and pinned Mr. Heena underneath. Mr. Heena suffered cuts on the face and two injured ribs. Mrs. Heena was cut on one leg, but thei two children escaped unhurt. Dr. Blundell was summoned, and he took Mrs. Heena to the hospital at Te Awamutu. Mr. Denipsey, who was passing at the time, brought Mr. Heena and the two children to Otorohanga, where they were attended to by Dr. Gilberd. Both the injured are progressing, and Mr. Heena was able to visit Te Awamulu to day. The car was wrecked.
COLLISION NEAR OPOTIKI. BOTH CARS DAMAGED. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] OPOTIKI, Friday. A collision took place to-day between a motor-car coming from Gisborne and one driven by a native, M. Mill a ere, of Opotiki. The accident occurred about 7 miles from Opotiki. The Gisborne car was carrying a constable escorting two prisoners to Auckland. .No one was injured, but both cars received considerable damage to mudguards and axles.
