HOSPITAL AUXILIARY.
GARDEN FAIR.
A garden fair, in aid of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary, was held in the grounds of Mrs. Alfred Kidd's home, Gillies Avenue, yesterday afternoon. The fair was organised by members of the Ways and Means Committee, who had spared no effort to make the afternoon a success. Flower-bedecked stalls were arranged about the grounds, and visitors were given refreshments at small tables set under the trees. A panatrope, playing well-known airs, gave an extra touch of gaiety to the scene. Perhaps the greatest attraction to the visitors Was the garden which, laid out in shaded paths, trim lawns and unexpected clumps of flowers, was delightful. Owing to the absence of Mrs. Campbell, the Mayoress, there was no official opening of the "fair. Thoso \n attendance at the stalls were:—Mrs. Arthur Wakeman, Mrs. Hammond Hyde, Mrs. Fred Munford, Mrs. Claude White, sweet stall; Mrs. E. F. Rainger, Miss Wagstaff, white elephant stall; Mrs. R. K. Smith, Mrs. Balgarnie, ice cream and soft drink stall, which was set up in the summer house; M'S. Bolitho, Mrs. Merson, Mrs. Fitzherbert, produce stall; Mrs. B. Hague, Miss B. Hague, cabbage patch; Miss Ormond, Mrs. Chapman, Mrs. Hanson, Miss Wettenhall, Mrs. Drysdale, Mrs. Maguire. Miss Trevithick, afternoon tea; Mrs. Nutter, astrology; Miss Calder, tea-cup fortune telling. Many of the committee were present, as were also Mrs. Neill and Mrs. E. R. Potter, presidents of the sub-com-mittees at Onehunga and Mount Eden, with some of their members.
