ANNUAL REUNION.

LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.

The opening of the official year of the League of Mothers Society was marked by an annual reunion hefld yesterday afternoon. This took tho form of a picnic, held in the One Tree Hill Park. Perfect weather conditions prevailed, and the day in the open proved very pleasant. . . Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell, provincial president, welcomed the members, and said she had great pleasure in giving them a message of goodwill from Mrs. J. S. Elliot, the Dominion president. Ladv Alice Fergusson had also sent her good wishes, and wished to thank the members again for their parting gift of the greenstone ornament. His Excellency also wished them every success in the coming year. . A badge and a membership card were presented to Mrs. Balfour Dawson, in appreciation of her constant help to the league. Mrs. Dawson, explained the president, was kind enough to do all the league's typing work for them free of charge in her spare time. Mrs. Mitchell also took the opportunity of welcoming the provincial president o.t boutnlancl, Mrs. Chewings. A short speech, which was greatly appreciated, was given by Dr. J. J. North, principal of the Baptist He took as his subject the great privileges and obligations of motherhood. Miss A. M.'Arey, provincial secretary, also spoke, urging her hearers to closer co-operation and team-work between ail officers and members.
