ARCTIC AIR TRAGEDY.
EIELSON AND HIS FRIEND.
BODY FOUND BY RUSSIAN.
VANCOUVER. Feb. 20
A message from Fairbanks, Alaska, states that a wireless message from Grogson reports that Lieutenant Eielson s body was found buried in snow near the wreckage of the aeroplane at North Cape, Siberia. The airman was killed instantly. His body, with that of his mechanic, Borland, was lying about 500 ft. from the aeroplane, indicating that they had crashed with terrific impact.
Lieutenant Eielson's body was found by a Soviet pilot, Commander Slipneoff, and was placed with Borland's on an aeroplane, which will bring them to Alaska when the weather permits. Borland will be buried at Seattle and Eielson at Hatton, North Dakota.
