DARGAVILLE RACING CLUB.

BY ARCHER. With near!? all the candidates claiming mere than one engagement and some having several, it is rather difficult to review the fields for this meeting with any degree of certainty. The indications point to the field 3 boinj small and it is on the cards that the favourites will iara well, aa soma of the races may not be difficult to pick when the scratching are posted. If Xeil is going to win a race this season, he should have a golden, opportunity in the Maiden Handicap, as ha ia unlikely to meet a weaker field anywhere. The three-year-old has galloped well on occasions on the track, and, though he has failed in his races, ho will probably be 3ingied out for solid support in this event. His chief danger may come from Snowplane, wlio is well seasoned, but, unleS3 I she is better than public form would suggest, he will not have to be much good to beat her. It is unlikely that there will be more than three or four runners in the Kaihll Hack High-weight Handicap, and. if he reproduces the form ho displayed at Eotorua, where he ran. two good seconds, Brampton should win. He is to be ridden by 1L Duh'eu. who has been riding with marked success lately, and should therefore lose nothing on the score of horsemunsmp. If the sin horses engaged all go to the post for the Dargaviile Cup, it may prove a very interesting race. Glenstar should be all the betier for the racing ho had at Rotoruu, where he showed hia first glimpse of form for some time, and the same applies to Willonyz, who was finishing on very strongly when he finished third to Mithra and Glenstar in tho Farewell Handicap at, Rotorua. Then there aro 2Tassock ana Golden Wedding, who are both well now. and they seem certain' to make good showings.
