THE WAIH! COMPANY, [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WAIHI. Thursday. The following information has been cabled to the London office of the Waihi Goldmining Company:— - For the period ended February 8, com- ■ prising 27 crushing days, 22.244 tons of oro were crushed for a result of 7889 fins ounces of gold and 4/,330 fine ounces of silver. This includes 1326 tons mined from tho Junction area, yielding 6980z5. of gold and 75520z. of silver, also 6602. nf cold and 160oz. of silver from tha residues from the old Waihi mill site. Xo. 10 Level.—South section of Empire lode: Driving west of the London south crosscut the next 42ft.: assays 62s a ton. A connection has been made to former workings, but further investigation is being made. Martha lode: Driving west of the boundary crosscut the nest 24ft. assays 64s 3d a ton, and the - nest 7ft. is hard quartz of little or no value". • No. 13 Level.—A south-east crosscut' - ■was commenced from the north: section of the Martha lode, at IQOft. east of Noi 4 shaft, north crosscut, and at 73ft.; in the main section of the Martha lode was met. The first 49ft. is quartz and a mixture of quartz and country. The next 4ftis quartz of an assay value of 7s a ton. The next sjtt, is sulphide ore, of an W assay value of 65s a ton, and the next : 25ft. is country and' quartz alternately, of little or no value. ■• * - ■: - : ;:.
