WARLIKE PREPARATIONS.
FENG OPPOSES NANKING.
PEKING, Feb. 19. Under cover of an exchange of pacific telegrams between the pivotal leaders in the threatened clash between the Northern and Southern factions in China, both sides are rushing their preparations for wair. A stream of troops continues to pour northward from Nanking. General Feng Yu-hsiang's chief men are holding a military conference at, Sian, the capital of Shensi province. This is expected to result in a fresh declaration of hostility toward the Nanking regime. i j ARMIES ON THE MARCH. SOMETHING SERIOUS AFOOT. (Received February 20, 5.25 p.m.) LONDON. Feb. 20. Advices from China received in official British circles suggest that armies are marching under Feng Yu-hsiang and Chiang It is not easy to ascertain what is happening, but it is rumoured that something serious is afoot. ■
