PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS.
SITUATION IN RUSSIA.
BOYCOTT BY WORKERS.
BRITAIN SEEKING THE FACTS. REPORTS FROM , AMBASSADOR. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. (F.eceivecl February 20, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. Feb. 19. . A message from the postal workers of Kieff at a recent meeting decided not to deliver telegrams, letters or parcels to persons in holy orders. A similar boycott is being arranged in other cities. Workers have also refused to print religious matter. An official wireless message says that in replying to questions in the House ol Commons regarding the alleged persecntion of Christians in Russia, the Foreign Secretary, Mr. Arthur Henderson, stated that the British Ambassador at Moscow, Sir Esmond Ovey, was doing, his best to inform himself of the facts, and he was waiting the Ambassador's reply. The despatch .on the subject already received from the Ambassador was of a preliminary character only, and he was not prepared to publish that. It was obvious that the value of diplomatic correspondence between the Government and • British representatives abroad would be seriously compromised if the impression were created that the despatches received from them must necessarily be published. The Government was anxious to ascertain the facts, and would welcome specific evidence from any quarter, concerning the allegations which had been made. Mr. Malcolm Mac Donald, son of the Prime Minister, intervening during questions, remarked just a month ago in the company of 1000 other people he had worshipped peacefully in the Cathedral of the Redeemer in Moscow.
