MEETING THE DEFICIT.
NEW TAXES PREDICTED.

The Sund ay express predicts that in order to meet the deficit and find an additional £20,000,000 for social. services the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr. Philip Snowden, will increa.se the land tax by Id in the pound. This' would yield £20,000,000.
The paper says Mr. Snowden ; dso will substantially increase the, death duties on large estate!!, reduce the Army Estimates by £20,000,'000 and make all incomes of £ISOO and upwards liable to thn supertax. ij "■>;;
