SPORTS FIXTURES.
RAIN CAUSES POSTPONEMENT
The torrential rain which fell in Auckland last Thursday and Friday continued on Saturday, and, although the weather cleared slightly after mid-day, sports grounds for the most part were too thoroughly soaked to permit play. The second .day of the test cricket match between the M.C.C. team and New Zealand again resulted in no play. Lawn tennis fixtures, pennant bowling and rowing events were also postponed,-although the North Shore Club rowed trial fours. A few of the bowling clubs also played club games. Yachting fixtures were held as usual, but owing to the state of the Domain, the Auckland Ataateur Athletic and Cycle Club had to postpone its Sportsman Cup meeting. ' .
