[DECREASE IN CONSUMPTION.
[ NEW SOUTH WALES FIGURES.

The consumption of alcoholic liquors in [New South Wales is falling appreciably ewing to depression and increased prices. fThe beer sold in December totalled 204,575 gallons less than in the corresponding month of 1923.
The decrease in the sales of spirits was lhaidly so pronounced, yet was subtsantial enough to cause the liquor trade the utmost concern.
DRINKERS OF BEER. CWEST AUSTRALIAN STRIKE. f PERTH. Feb. 3. A " beer strike " is in progress at the State Hotel. Gwalia. A ban has been placed on the liquor owing to the charge of.6d for a 10-ounce measure. Customers demand 12 ounces. Trade is at a standstill.
Beer drinkers at Leonora also refuse to accept the 10-ounce measure.
