Sj,-, Tn view of the narrowly averted catastrophe, when a number of birds and animals nearly met with an untimely end would it not. bo advisable to tighten up our laws so that it is impossible to keep any quantity of these helpless creatures in wooden buildings. I would suggest this for consideration to tho S.P.C.A., for until the public are aroused to the cruelty of bringing birds and wild animals from their nativo haunts and cabin and confine such for our selfish pleasure, wo should at least safcgiMid their prisons from untimely destruction.
