DRAINAGE OF LAND.
NETHERTON BOARD'S AREA. CLEANING OF FLOOD-GATES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] TE AROHA, Monday. At a meeting of the Netherton Drainago Board it was decided that the necessity for gear to lift the flood gates for cleanjng in flood times be referred to' the Public Works Department. It was also decided to ask the department to expedite tho completion of the floodgate at tho sand dump, and to connect tho outlet to the Wirihana East drain. Tho following were appointed to care for tho floodgates:—Messrs. F. Epps, A. Vorles, G. Death. R. Crow, B. Sim and R. Moslcy. Tho remuneration was fixed at £2 a year. It was stated that no advice had been received lelative to tho transfer of certain lands from the Elstow Board's proposed area. All the settlers concerned had applied to the Elstow Board, but as yet they had not received a reply. In view of the fact that the Elstow Boardwas taking over the Awaiti area at March 31, it was desirable to "have the matter finalised. It was decided to ascertain the position from the Elstow Board.
