ANNIVERSARY REGATTA.
FURTHER FUNDS REQUIRED.
ARRIVAL OF THE BETTY.
for the Auckland Anniversary Regatta, which will be held on the Waitemata to-morrow, were completed at a meeting of the committee last evening.
The chairman, Mr. E. B. Webster, said in order to make the regatta a financial success, at least £IOO more was required. The collections last jear totalled £386, and so far only £278 had been received. Eight hundred circulars appealing for funds had been sent out, and the response was not up to expectations. He urged all present, even at this late hour, to make un effort to secure further funds.
It was reported that the Canterburyowned boat Betty had arrived from the South, and would b e taking part in the regatta. It was decided to advise the owner of Betty that he must display the letter B on her mainsail on regatta day. Mr. A. J. Collings reported that a number of visiting outboards would be racing on Wednesday in addition to the entries already received from Auckland boats. It was decided that letters instead of numibers- be allotted to the visitors.
In response to a request from Mr. P. F. Carter, who is in charge of the Tauranga 7ft. class, it was agreed to instruct all 7-footers to assemble at the Akarana Yacht Club's building at 9.30 a.m. on regatta day.
