BIG-GAME FISHING.

LARGEST CATCH OF SEASON.

COMPETITION BETWEEN CLUBS.

MANGONUI, Friday

Afc' a meeting of the Bay of Islands Swordfish and Mako Shark Club, the following letter was receded from the secretary of the Whangaroa Swordfish and BigGame Fishing Club:—"l ani by my executive to issue a friendly challenge to your club for the largest, fish during the 1929-30 season, caught in accordance with the rules of our • respective clubs, and in accordance witfy the schedule of conditions attached hereto."

The conditions state that, the losing club shall present the winning club with a trophy valued at not shall provide the winning club with a dinner,' if possible at a date when the angler who has caught the winning fish can be present.

The challenge was accepted, with the stipulation that the reremai shark be excluded, as this fish does not come under the heading of big-game fish in the rules of the Bay of Islands Club.
