THE WAIHI COMPANY.
[FIY TELEGRAPH. —OWN correspondent] AVAIHI, Friday.
The following information has been cabled to tho London office of the Wailii Goldmining Company;—
No. 9 Level. —North crosscut; At 139 ft. cast on tho Empire lode, at 100 ft, in this crosscut, driving west was commenced on tho Dominion lode, the first 35ft. assaying 16s a ton.
No. 10 Level.— Lodo at 40ft. south of Empire lode, in London south crosscut, wo have driven a. further 24ft. to the oast on this, tho assay value being 93s 9d a ton; also 91ft. to the west, tho assay valuo being 56s a ton. The reef is wider than the drive in each direction. In tho crosscut north-west from the Empire lode, near tho oast boundary, the next four i'ect is country rock, the next two feet quartz, tho next 10ft. calcite and the last lift, quartz. The north wall is in hand. Assays were of little or no value. Driving has now been * commenced on quartz at 100 ft. in.
REPORTS OF MANAGERS. Hauraki.—'Tho manager telegraphs as fol-lows:-—Twenty pounds rough picked stone, strong gold, from stopes. Promising looking leader on seaward face.
