SUICIDE IN JAPAN.

MINISTER TO CHINA.

COUNTRYMEN ASTOUNDED.

(Received November 29, 9.5 p.m.) TOKIO, Nov. 28,

Japan is astounded at the news that Mr. Sadao Saburi, Minister to China, committed suicide by" shooting himself with a revolver at Moyanoshita, on the anniversary of the death of his wife. Two months ago Mr. Saburi was appointed Minister to China, where he became unpopular on account of a speech which the Chinese considered derogatory. He was visiting Japan to report on Chinese affairs.

The late diplomat had a distinguished career, including councillorships at Paris and Washington. The reasons for the suicide are not known.
