SUMMER EVENING PLANS.
ALLOCATION OF WINTER FUNDS
Open-air community singing is ■' to be introduced in Auckland during the summer evenings. "The Auckland Community Singing Committee has for some time been- considering this question, and having now secured the ' permission-' of the City Council, has' made arrangements for two experimental " sings " at Point Chevalier and in Albert Park. It is hoped to hold these in the latter part of January. As a result of the winter sessions £lls has been distributed, as follows: Mayor's' earthquake fund, £4O; City Mission, £ls; St. Vincent de Paul Society, £ls; Little Sisters, £10; Methodist Mission, £10; Sister Hannah, £10; riving Angel Mission to Seamen, £5; British .Sailors' Society, £5; Door of Hope' Association,' £5. Owing to the substantial sum given to , the Mayor's earthquake fund, some of the amounts allocated to organisations are less than (hose-of last year, While, for the same reason, other deserving causes had to be passed by.,
