Tho Norwegian motor-ship Thalatta, with 5000 Australian sheep for Russia on board, sailed to-day a baro hour before tho Government's proclamation prohibiting the oxport of stud sheop became operative. v
Tho vessel wa3 beyond tho three mile limit and outside tho jurisdiction of Australia when tho embargo took effect. No attempt was mado to detain tho vessel. Before her departure an official from tho Navigation Department, who was on the wharf, declared that everything was in order, and gave tho master a clear-
ance. It was ascertained that all but 150 of the sheop on board were flock owes.
Tho Thalatta had a consignment of 5000 rams and owes for Russia.* Tho purchase was mado on behalf of the Soviet Government.
