NEW COURTS AT WHAKATANE

WHAKATANE, Thursday,
"The Hon. ,T. G. Gow. of Opotiki, performed the ceremony yesterday of opening two new tennis courts for the Knox Presbyterian Church Club. Whakatane. The Mayor. Mr. W. Sullivan, presided. Mr. Gow congratulated tho members of the Knox Church on their enterprise. The Rev. 11. J. Lilburn announced that the entire work of constructing the courts had been carried out by voluntary labour, and expressed his deep appreciation of the hearty co-operation of all the members. The club has now a membership of 60. Exhibition matches were played between Opotiki and Whakatane, and the players expreHeed their delight with the finish of the courts.
