RETAIL BUTTER PRICES.
REDUCTION OF ONE PENNY.
DECREASE OPERATES TO-DAY.
A reduction of one penny a pound in the retail price of superfine butter will bo made in Auckland to-day. The new price for superfine, Is Bd, will be the same as that for first grade, with second grado brands only Id a lb. less. A city exporter stated yesterday that the reduction had been made to bring local prices into line with the London parity. Considering the state of the market there it was thought only fair that there should be a reduction.
The latest cable advice concerning the London butter market states that ifc is firm, with a slightly better demand.
The revised price will be retrospective to tho trade as from last Thursday.
