SUSPENSION OF .TRAINING. DECISION OF CABINET. f CANBERRA, Nov. 1. The Federal Cabinet has "decided to taiisi immediate steps for the susjpensioiit of compulsory military training and the holding of camps. EL iScullin, commenting on the decision to nuspond . compulsory military training among the youths of Australia., said the Government had no intention of interfering with tha defence of ilie Commonwealth. There would be a gsmeral' review of military policy, with the idea, of discovering a more efficient and less costly system. Other members of It!he Cabinet hinted that the formw volunteer system would be reintroduced. Sir George Pearce, Minister of 'Defence in Mr.. Bruce's Government, said the Labour Government had no authority to suspend compulsory training, and military camps. Another former Minister de- , scribed it as an outrage on a mosl sacred trust.
