LORRY STRIKES MOTOR-CAR,
vehicle pushed off road.
Struck by a heavy motor-lorry as it' was standing at the kerb in Manukan Boad, Nessir arket, <iarlv yesterday afternoon:, a light motor-car was pushed along the footpath for a considerables distance and then forced through a ston.t wooden frmce, coming to rest against 'ha side of a, factory. The car, which Wsis owned by Mrl W. Dmykins, furniture manufacl urer, was standing outside his factory at the kerb ini Manukau l?oad, on the left side tpproaching the Great South Rmad. and struck the of the parkod vehicle with considerable force, moving it a dist'jico of 13 yards along the footpath, although the standing car had its brakes on. The car was then forced against the fence, which and over z> drop of about two feet up to the walls of th* factory. , ; ' 'There was no one in the standing car afi the time, while fortunately tiaeiia were nili passers-by on the footpath. The car wilts considerably damaged, two wheels being shattered by the impact., and the bodywork and mudgmards snfrsnng some damage. One of the front springs on the track was; broken, while the axle was bunt and the front of the vehicle bore traces cf the collision. Both* vehicles were later towed away.
