FERRY TRAFFIC TO MOUNT. PASSENGER TOLL APPROVED. [BY telegraph.--own correspondent.] TATJRANGA. Friday. The Tauranga Harbour Board approved a by-law for payment of passenger toll of one penny each way on boats running between Tauranga and Mount Maunganui for the period from December 15 to April 30. The boarJ adopted an amendment to a by-law p.-oviding that country carriers plying solciy outside the borough boundaries shall be charged half the vehicle licence rates as applying to the wharves and the board's reclaimed area. It was agreed that the grazing lease of Mount Drury Reserve be continued for another 12 month's. It was reported that a steamer service betweon South Island ports and Tauranga has been arranged with the Richardson Steamship Company. The board decided to give notice that an advertising sign erected on the board's land without authority be removed within 10 days. Authority was given for steps to be taken to prevent the depositing of fish offal in certain parts of the harbour and against the mooring of punts in channels at night without lights.
