SHOP AT WHAKAREWAREWA.
BRIGADE'S DIFFICULT TASK.

A fire occurred at 2 a.m. to day in a shop occupied by Indiana and situated across tho bridge at Whakarewarewa. When tho alarm was givon tho building was burning fiercely. Great difficulty was experienced by tho brigade owing to tho distance of tho firo plug, Tho firemen had to use 750 ft. of hose to roach the scene of tho fire.
Tho building and contents wero totally destroyed, bilt the brigade was able to save the adjoining buildings. The structure was a very old one.
