THROWN FROM SIDECAR.
FATE OF LITTLE GIRL.
COMMENT BY THE CORONER.
[BY telegraph.—own correspondent.]
WANGANUI, Tuesday
The inquest concerning the death of tho little, girl Mavis Mitchell, as the result of a motor accident on Sunday, was concluded this morning. Tho coroner, Mr. J. H. Salmon, returned a verdict that the cause of death was a fracture of the skull, the injury being accidentally sustained by being thrown from a side-car of a motor-cycle driven by her father. The coroner said the evidenco disclosed no negligence on the part of tho girl's father. On tho contrary, he acted with over excessive caution, turning the cycle too suddenly, with a result that it overturned. The evidence also showed that no blame could be attached to the driver of the motor-car, who was a considerable distance away, and there was no prospect of a collision at the time.
